Looks like I have plenty of members for my Tambi Fan Club... heh heh heh.
And I love her because she is so bloody clever. Look how she was working for Darcy and Sal, and still she was manipulating both of them for her own ends. And she's never gotten caught, and she's not had anything go wrong (other than Katchoo... is she Mini-Tambi??) And like mentioned above, she took control of the company from sadistic misogynistic old men (rember the scene with Sal and the only other Big Six member we ever saw "my ex-wife didn't have no respect either, now she nags the fish in lake Michigan") and went techie with it. The only killings she makes now are in the market place. I think her new 'do reflects this(although I loved the long hair! I'd help her brush it out anytime!!) as does the new tat',the tigress in a silicon jungle. We've seen her back before and it's new. Hmmm, maybe shes going back to Singapor to get it touched up.

C.B., you take Tambi at her word. She is a D.U.C.K. (I've always wondered what the K stands for.)

Tambi is a very dangerous woman. Bikini and hanging out aside, she still at one time, or two, wanted to kill Katchoo, has killed plenty of people, stills does business illegally, etc. It's good to see another side of her, but that comment to David is a reminder that Tambi is not an angel and never will be close to that. I wouldn't want her protecting me. She's far too selfish.
(but, I like her as a character)

Good point, Bran. That puts the leg-breaking thing in perspective. I was thinking that was pretty chilling a thing for her to say, but Terry prolly did put that line of dialogue in to remind us of that.
...And he probably sees the Tambi fans here, too.

Tambi is definitely not an angel. But she seems more interested in using her power for good than evil right now.
I thought she was threatening David because he's David, or because he's a guy. Maybe both. I don't think that what she said is a reflection of what you could expect on a date with Tambi.
Anyway, it's all fantasy, as far as I'm concerned. Tambi looks like a handsome big ol' butch girl, and she's growing a personality. Just showing a little appreciation for that.
Maybe the next introspective issue (in the tradition of the Freddie issue) will be called "You're A Big Ol' Butch Girl, Mary Beth..."

...Mary Beth threatens David, and it's a small, ugly little scene that shakes his confidence. How is Katina during that exchange? Is she passive? Sizing it up?
What's interesting to me is this: Mary Beth is a big girl, and we've seen her kill men larger than David with little or no effort. Why on earth would she need to threaten him like that?
The conclusions I'm drawing from Mary Beth's use of the creepy "Half-kidding" thing are this:
1. She's not real keen on David touching her-- even when it's clearly an accident.
2. She's threatened in some way by David. Closeness to Katchoo, or maybe David's murky darker side-- the one that Veronica knew so well.
3. I've accepted the possibility that Mary Beth might just be overcompensating. She's used to having people in mortal fear of her, and she wants a certain degree of mortal fear accompanying warm and fuzzy moments.
4. ...but I mostly feel it's an indication that we haven't seen the last of "Tambi"-- a subtle reminder that SIP often returns to Katina's past and has us wondering if she'll ever be free to live her life. That past still threatens.
5. Or maybe Terry just wanted another reason to alienate David from Katchoo.

I'd have to go with Number 3. I'm not sure Tambi really knows how to act when not doing a hostile takeover or protecting Darcy or spying on Darcy or etc.
And I am fairly sure she isn't that fond of David. He is Darcy's brother for all intents and purposes. We also don't really know what their past interactions have been. Perhaps that's how she used to behave with him and now he's changed and she hasn't?

I think Tambi's distrust of David is right in character. We've seen throughout her appearances that she views everything through the narrow lens of the Big Six. Look how long it took for her to accept that Katchoo's feelings for Francine weren't an intentional misdirection by Katchoo to confuse Darcy. There has been so much intrigue, infiltration, defection and double dealing just in what we've seen (let alone in the back history and off scene dealings) that any reasonable person would suspect that David is still or could return to be a player in the game (and a player adverse to Tambi's designs).
Come to think of it, he might.

Well, the only problem with David going back to being a 'player' in Tambi's league is that David would need a lot of money. He would then have to take said money and invest it into a biotechnology research company, y'know, someone doing human genome research. Then maybe after a long waiting periond, they could grow him a new SPINE!
Seriously, I can't see David ever trying to walk that road again-yes, I do remember when he killed the guy, but that was a self defense measure-no way would he be capoable of the kind of black hearted meaniness it would take to get back on top.
Unless Kat totally breaks him and he casts aside his religous convictions, bitter and hard over it....
OK, that I would kinda like to see.

two questions:
1. is Tambi straight, gay, bi, transgendered, etc? 'cause everyone seems to be assuming she is "butch" but I haven't seen any indication of her preferences. The one phrase that still kills me is "I'm not a total stranger to matters of the heart." (when she's openign the limo door to reveal Francine). Tambi has a past!
2. the whole "break you legs" thing. I assumed it's just because Tambi has a sense of humour. I thought it was funny. I bet Katchoo was snickering. And David literally walked into it.
Just my thoughts
